And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28: 18-20

Power

Love

Self-discipline

There’s a handful of very specific qualities we have been gifted by God when our souls are flooded with the Holy Spirit. It is a beautiful thing when we accept and utilized what the Lord has freely given us. Free to us, not free for him. However, worth it. He felt you were worth it.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45 BSB

The Amplified Bible reads the same verse this way:

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgement and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control.]

Which basically means the took all the different translations of this verse and compiled them into one.

It is by His Spirit we are able to make real and lasting change in our lives. Studying His word, meditating on it and applying it to our lives is a powerful tool for change in your life and the lives of others.

The following scripture pretty much speaks for itself, so here’s a bunch of truth bombs.

We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, what we may understand what God has freely given us.

1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be shaken.”

1 Peter 3:14 BSB

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.

1 John 4:18 NIV

For you did not receive a spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Romans 8:15 NKJV

The LORD is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life – whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 NIV

Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13 BSB

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

John 14:27 NIV

Despite what the world wants you to believe, there is a way that leads to a spirit filled with power, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self-control. That way is Jesus Christ.

“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:5-6 NKJV

Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12 NIV

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now he has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you hold and blameless, and above reproach in His sight – if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Colossians 1:19-23 NKJV
